At last here is something that I feel has been missing from .NET. the ability to create and enlist in transactions without having to interact with COM+. I haven’t looked into this deeply yet (it’s on my list of things to do), but it looks exactly what I want.

In case you are wondering if .Net will provide support forlocal and distributed transactions outside COM+/EnterpriseServices, the answer is yes, System.Transactions will do that. A preview of this namespace is available at Longhorn System Transactions
